Throughout my entire life I have had many roles within the developmental disability community. The most recent is being a Residential Counselor for Gateway Hudson Valley. During this time I have worked with the residents by creating service plans, working on goals, administering medication, and documenting their progress. Between February 2019 through January 2020 I was mentored by Christopher Bledsoe who is a certified Self Direction Broker for the OPWDD. During this time I obtained hands on experience with the roles and responsibilities of a Support Broker. Lastly, I have completed the necessary courses through NYS OPWDD. I am confident that I can perform the role of Support broker with the experience I have accrued in my professional and educational career.
