I have extensive experience working in various capacities connected to Developmental Disabilities. I am currently an approved NYS Support Broker actively practicing for the past four years, developing budgets using person centered planning processes. Through this experience I have learned to create supports and services related to all facets of Self-Direction . I am also the parent and Support Broker of three sons who have Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have experience and knowledge in all areas of Self Direction including but not limited to; Budget Development, Staff Action Plans, Person-Centered Planning Options, developing Life-plans, and Electronic Management Systems. I have conducted lectures for parents and professionals regarding OPWDD Self-direction supports. I have also mentored a variety of NYS approved Support Brokers, in which I have developed new working relationships. I love my career as a Self-Direction Broker, and I enjoy working with families to assist and support them in developing Self-Direction plans and supports.
