ADAPT Community Network celebrated its 70th Anniversary in 2017. So much has been accomplished since our founding in 1947 and yet there is so much more to do. The families who founded the agency would be proud of the many breakthroughs over the years, including accessible public education for all, community living for children and adults, advancements in assistive technology, and creating opportunities for employment. ADAPT Community Network honors the founders’ legacy by continuing to help our people recognize their full potential.
To effectively respond to new generations with growing expectations, we have examined everything we do, as well as our role in the larger community. Today, our schools and services encompass many people who have challenges beyond cerebral palsy. ADAPT’s comprehensive programs provide education, health, technology, residential and recreational services to over 20,000 individuals and families, living with challenges such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and neuromuscular disorders.
